USDA Launches Tribal Fellowship Program

Terra Preta do Indio intended to strengthen collaboration with Tribal colleges and universities.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has initiated the Terra Preta do Indio Tribal Fellowship program to provide research opportunities, programs, and services to faculty and staff from tribal colleges and universities, as well as a state land-grant university. This fellowship program seeks to foster collaboration between tribal nations and USDA, promote tribal economic development and workforce training, and enhance food security.

“Tribal colleges are anchors in their communities, and these fellowships enhance the collaborations between tribal nations and USDA,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. “Every day, USDA is striving to better serve tribal governments, citizens, and organizations and honor our nation’s trust and treaty responsibility.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack as he supports tribal higher education opportunities.
  • For USDA officials as they provide fellowship opportunities for tribal educators, faculty, and staff.
